The University of Oklahoma's Center for Business & Economic Development (CBED) serves the economic and community development needs within the State of Oklahoma. The primary focus of CBED is to stimulate and promote economic development initiatives which create meaningful employment and improve the quality of life in Oklahoma and across the nation. OU/EDI Economic Development Institute

photo of professional coupleFounded in 1962, OU/EDI is the only multi-year, professional level program of its type in the U.S. and is considered the worlds' economic development "teacher." OU/EDI provides professional economic developers with up-to-date knowledge and tools necessary to succeed in today's constantly changing economic development marketplace.

Accredited by the International Economic Development Council, OU/EDI is the only multi-year, professional level program of its type in the U.S.

In the fall of 2005, a historic agreement with CETYS University, Baja, Calif., OU/EDI created the first-ever economic development institute outside the United States - EDI Mexico.
